What’s the Best Type of Fiverr Gig to Make Money?

Making money on Fiverr is a goal for many. There are some people who do it for fun—there was one guy in the forum a while back who would constantly gloat about how he had enough money and he was just doing his Fiverr gigs to “give back” to the world or something along those lines. Cocky, if you ask me.

Anyway, if you do want to make money, your Fiverr gig is (or gigs are) really important. You need to choose something that will sell and gives you a decent hourly wage.

So what is the best Fiverr gig to make money?

There’s not one in particular but here are some ideas.

Something that You’re Already Good At

You don’t want to spend hours researching or finding out how to do something. You want to offer something that you’re already good at doing.

I’ve seen gigs with a “I will help you” title and they promise to do anything—sorry but you’re not an expert at everything and you’re not going to be able to do everything within the space of 20-30 minutes or so.

You want something that you can deliver quickly but with quality. I offer 400 words for a general article because it takes me about 20 minutes to do. I do 100 words of sales copy for the first $5 because that gives me the extra time to research the product/service and promote it.

You Need to Enjoy Your Fiverr Gig to Make Money

Make it look like you’ve put a lot of effort in.

You can do that by enjoying your Fiverr gig. Don’t go in with just the idea to make money. You will hardly make anything if the quality and value isn’t there.

If it means extending delivery times, go for it. But make sure you really enjoy what you’re doing. You may experience burn out or just be tired of working now and then (everyone goes through it at some point) but it shouldn’t last forever.

When you Fiverr gig is no longer something you enjoy doing, it will show in your work and you will start to lose out on orders.

Offer Something Quick and Simple

Remember that it is only $5. You don’t want to offer hours of work for that $5; it’s just not worth it.

Offer something simple and quick to do. I don’t like anything that is going to take longer than 20 minutes for $5. If it seems to take longer, I will talk to the buyer about it and be honest. It needs to be worthwhile for me so I can focus on quality.

If you can, offer something that is already created. You can then just attach it and send. I used to offer an eBook on making money writing through the site but it wasn’t doing so great so removed the gig. But there are plenty of others who create gigs like this and make a lot of money.

It’s Not All About the Gig

Remember it’s not just your Fiverr gigs that help you make money on the site. You will also need to focus on excellent customer service and quality every time.

Some in the forum suggest to over-deliver but I have my own view on this. I’ll go over that at some point.

Without good customer service, responding to requests and marketing your Fiverr gigs, they’re not going to make you the money that you dream of.
