How to Hire a Photographer on Fiverr.com

There are so many types of jobs you may need doing. I once needed a photographer, since that’s one side that—even with a camera phone—I can’t do very well.

It went through a long process to find the perfect photographer on Fiverr.com and I want to share my tips here.

Browse the Categories

Look through the right categories. There is a search function, so you can keep it broad by searching for a photographer on the website or you can get a little narrower. I tend to start with narrow terms, such as landscape photographer or flower photographer. If I can’t find anything with those terms, I’ll make them broader.

Don’t look to hire someone who doesn’t do photography. Graphic art and photography are not the same thing!

Look Through the Fiverr Feedback

Take some time to browse through the feedback on the Fiverr users. You want to know whether they deliver on time, are trustworthy, deliver according to their gig description and will work with your needs.

Check the negative feedback. It’s not always the Fiverr seller’s fault! There are times that buyers expect much more but are unwilling to pay it.

Read the Fiverr Gig Description and Extras

Check the gig description to make sure the Fiverr photographer can handle the type of topic you need. Most will state clearly what they are willing and are not willing to do for the $5.

There could be an option for extras if you have a larger project. Check out the extras and be willing to pay them. Sellers don’t want to deal with buyers who want the world for $5.

Check the Samples from the Photographer on Fiverr.com

There is something called a Live Portfolio. These are samples of the work that the seller has done for previous Fiverr buyers and are good ways to check the quality of the work.

If the Live Portfolio isn’t active, you can also ask to see samples of the work. I highly recommend this when it comes to artistic Fiverr gigs. It’s really important to make sure the quality of work is high and suitable for your needs.

Contact the Fiverr Photographer

I suggest contacting the Fiverr seller before ordering the gig, especially if you have a very detailed order that needs fulfilling. This will help you choose someone who is more than capable of doing the gig.

If you are unsure about anything in the Fiverr gig description, contact the seller to clarify. Sellers prefer the communication beforehand to make sure they can do the work and understand all your needs.

Don’t just randomly pick a Fiverr user to do your work. It takes time and patience to choose the perfect photographer on Fiverr.com for your needs. That time will give you the best value for your money.
