Why You Need a Video on Your Fiverr Gigs

I’m guilty of not having this, even though I really should. It’s not that hard to add a video to Fiverr gigs and I do have them created, I just need the software to convert the file types to add the videos to the different gigs.

But why are videos so important? Do you really need a video to succeed?

I’m not sure about whether you need one to really succeed at being a Fiverr seller – I do alright and Fiverr is a great addition to my regular income – but I think you need one to do extremely well and become a Top Rated Seller.

Explain Things Easier to Your Fiverr Buyers

Fiverr buyers don’t read the gig descriptions. I’ve had some that don’t even read the title of my Fiverr gigs!

The Fiverr system doesn’t really help with this. Gig descriptions can’t be formatted into paragraphs so it is one block of text. It’s not appealing and definitely not easy to read. I have to use * and other characters to help space out text.

The video is an easier way to explain things to the buyer. You can add what you will and won’t do and anything about your extras, easily and quickly. You only have 30 seconds but people are more willing to watch and listen than bother with reading something.

Give Something for Buyers to Watch

Really, even if the text could be spaced out easily, people prefer to watch videos than read on the computer. By adding a video to your Fiverr gig, you’re giving people something to watch.

Play to the things that they prefer and you will increase the chance of getting sales. Videos allow people to sit back and listen to what you have to say. I can also show how passionate you are about your work, increasing your sales.

Helps with Search Results

Google likes videos. You can improve your search results by adding a video to your Fiverr gigs. There are a lot more people than you think coming in from searches.

You only have 30 seconds but you can add a longer video to YouTube. This is great. You will be able to link to the video in your profile so that people get the full idea of what you are willing to offer for $5 and what you will do for the extras.

Show Off Your Samples

There’s a problem with Fiverr gigs – showing samples. For videos and images, there is the Live Portfolio option but that doesn’t work so well for other types of gigs.

You can take screenshots of your work and add them to your Fiverr video to show off your skills. This creates a simple portfolio that shows off a range of skills, depending on your style of Fiverr gig, so that people want to spend their money.

They don’t feel like they’re risking as much.

So, get yourself out there and create a video. Don’t have the skills or don’t want to be on camera? There are options to create a video for your Fiverr gig through some of the Fiverr sellers. Check them out and start selling more!

Minimartjobs.com Review -- Is It Worth the Time?

There are many micro job websites like Fiverr.com and one of those is Minimartjobs.com. It launched in 2011 and was developed with a similar idea as Fiverr.com – setting up a site for people to buy and sell things for as little as $5. It went one step further though by offering gigs for up to $250. I’ve got a few jobs available on the site and here’s my honest Minimartjobs.com review.

It’s Established like Fiverr.com

One of the biggest benefits is that it has been around for two years now and has become an established website. When searching for these micro job websites, it is one that comes up on top so has plenty of people buying jobs. This is excellent for people wanting to sell their skills since it means there are plenty of people buying them.

However, there is a small number of people on the site, especially compared to Fiverr.com. At the time of writing this Minimartjobs.com review, the number of users is only in the lower thousands, unlike Fiverr where it is in the five to six figures. This isn’t a good sign for sellers – there are so many gigs available that it makes it harder to make a living.

Other Payment Methods Available

One of the problems many people have with Fiverr is only allowing people to buy and sell with PayPal to start out. Once the Level 1 status is gained, sellers are then able to apply for the a Fiverr card where money is placed on the card but it does incur some charges. This is great for those where PayPal isn’t available but isn’t the best for all users. However, this card is still no available everywhere. Fiverr.com are trialling the process of direct bank transfers to India but this incurs large fees.

Minimartjobs.com allows buyers and sellers to use other online payment methods, including Payza. This is available all over the world, allowing people in places like Pakistan and India to use the website to make money and get it into their bank account instead of having to use the money on other jobs on the website.

Instant Delivery for Digital Products

I have digital products available, which are delivered instantly. This is great since it increases the chance of people buying, knowing that they won’t have to wait until I’m available to send it. This is something many other micro job websites are unable to offer. Users have to set up a 24 hour timeframe and then hope that they are around if someone buys the gig.

Able to Charge Larger Amounts

There is no need to have a base rate of$5, which Fiverr.com sets.  Sellers can really make this an option to make a liveable wage. It is possible for users to offer jobs for as much as $250 at a time. I’ve played with the different types of jobs but not found people opt for the higher amounts. The most people have been willing to pay is $10 per gig.

I don’t think this is really the quality but the lack of people visiting the website. There isn’t the customer base that Fiverr.com has to be able to make this a viable option. Sellers simply can’t make a liveable wage at $5-$10 per gig.

Minimartjobs.com Is Shutting Down

As at the time of writing this Minimartjob.com review, I’ve been notified that the website is closing down. I actually only found out because I checked the website – I didn’t get a notice to my emails at all! There is a large notice at the top of the site stating that the site is closing at the end of May 2013 due to the site changing hands – it seems like it is failing for the owners too.

I’m not sure what this means for those with money on the site. I still had $8 that I hadn’t withdrawn, waiting for more buyers. When I tried to withdraw it, I only had the option of moving it to the account balance. I have sent a ticket to the customer support to find out what will happen with this and when I find out, I’ll post an update for others.

Why Micro Job Sites Like Fiverr Are So Popular

Micro job sites seem to be the current thing. There are many of them including Fiverr, Minimart Jobs and Fivesquids.

But how have they become so popular with buyers and sellers?

It’s quite simple when you think about it – Money!

Money is a major factor for both buyers and sellers. Here’s how:

Buyers Buy Things for Cheap

People don’t have the money to spend on lots. They want to gain everything they need, whether personal or business, for cheap.

With micro jobs sites like Fiverr, it’s possible to spend as little as $5.

Of course, there is the saying “you get what you pay for” and that does happen on the site. Fiverr buyers regularly complain that they didn’t get exactly what they wanted – but they did get something worth $5!

Seller Get to Make Money Online

Making money online is a major search term with Google. People are struggling for cash and they want to earn a quick buck. That is made easier with Fiverr and other micro job sites.

Sellers can offer their skills for as little as $5.

But how do they make money? They get to up-sell.

There are gig extras on Fiverr once people are Level 1 and above. They can charge up to $100, depending on their level, for their extras and up-sell in the original gig to encourage people to buy them.

For example, I offer up to 400 words for $5. If you want keyword research doing, I’ll do it for an extra $20.

I also offer a transcription service for up to 10 minutes for $5. If you want to turn that transcription into an article, I’ll do it as one of my gig extras.

Other micro jobs sites, like Minimart Jobs, offers the ability to set a larger base price for gigs and you can charge up to $250 per gig. This opens the chance to make more money but I’m not sure whether there are people buying those jobs.

Sellers Offer Something that Wouldn’t Usually Make Money

If you look at the majority of the jobs on Fiverr and other micro job websites, you’ll find that they’re not usually things that make money in stores.

A lot of the gigs are quirky ones, like writing messages on hands or doing a dance.

The micro job sites have opened the opportunity for sellers to make money from their skills. Skills that they wouldn’t usually be able to use anywhere else to make money.

Yes, people really do buy these gigs! Some are great marketing opportunities or gifts for friends.

The Turnaround

As well as money, people want things quick. They may want SEO completed on their website within a week or a new article or video within 24 hours. These micro job sites offer that benefit.

There are people willing to do things within 24 hours – I offer an extra fast gig extra so people pay more for the quicker turnaround.

However, I always believe in quality. While you may want something within a few days, you need to make sure it is worth your money. If the quality is lacking because of the fast turnaround, you won’t be able to use the product in the end.

The World Is Moving Online

Finally, the world is moving to incorporate the internet much more. Just 10 years ago, blogs were just something people wrote for fun! It’s only been the last few years that they’ve been a source of making money.

These sites are online and offer jobs that can be sent online. They’re incorporating the internet that some other companies can’t.

They make it possible for people all over the world to order from anywhere in the world, without worrying about the cost of shipping. Yes, there are some items that need to be shipped but most are all online and gained through downloads.

Still wondering why micro job sites are so popular? Take a look through the type of gigs on offer and the feedback sellers receive. Check out the reviews online – yes, there are bad ones but there are also good ones – and see why sellers and buyers use the sites.

Money is a major factor but not the only one!

How to Get More Buyers on Fiverr: Optimize Your Fiverr Gig

One of the most common questions asked on the Fiverr forum is how to get more buyers. People are either in a slump with sales and want to kick start their gigs again while others are trying to start from the bottom and just get their first sale.

The best way to get a buyer is to optimize your gig.

This involves keyword research and really thinking about the things buyers will want when searching for your gig. Once you have the keywords, you need to use them perfectly in your content.

Choose Keywords that Match Your Gig

Don’t just go for popular phrases because they are popular. You need to find keyword phrases that match your gig.

There’s no point me putting phrases in for videos on my writing or rewriting gigs. Fiverr buyers may come but they definitely won’t buy because it won’t be what they’re after. I have to find keyword phrases revolved around writing, blogging and other similar topics.

Use the Keywords Sparingly

It’s really easy to overuse the phrases in your gigs. The Fiverr system is quite useful by only allowing you to use the same phrases one or two times in your description, depending on the length.

Keyword stuffing will not help you rank well and it will not make your Fiverr gigs easy to read. Think about it from the buyer’s POV and write for them. Take the time to explain your gig in detail instead of focusing so much on your keywords.

Use Keywords in the Tags

There are tags that are the perfect place for your keyword phrases. Add a couple in there, thinking about the type of phrases that people will search for when looking for your Fiverr gigs.

Don’t overuse your keyword phrases though – although the Fiverr system doesn’t really allow this to happen.

Make Your Fiverr Gig Stand Out

While optimizing your Fiverr gig, you need to make it stand out. If you offer something similar to others, why should they choose you over the people with more feedback or a higher level? You may know that you offer something great but they don’t.

Make your Fiverr gig stand out with great images, a video and some genuine samples. These will help to show off your skills and help to build trust.

Optimizing your Fiverr gig is a great way to be found in searches but it won’t do everything. Give the Fiverr buyers a reason to buy anything you offer, whether you write, do SEO or just offer something funny and gimmicky.

Good luck at selling your Fiverr gigs and creating financial freedom.
